Meditation for a Modern World
Let’s talk about meditation. There are many types of meditation in the world. In my experience, anything can be done during and with meditation. The preconceived notion about meditation is to sit for hours in a lotus position in order to reach enlightenment. However, the purpose of meditation is to be present to create a space for healing, for awareness. And in doing this you can create and achieve anything.
The more present you are, the clearer you are. The clearer you are, the less you dilute your manifestation with negative thoughts. Meditation teaches you how to be present in as man moments as possible.
The whole goal for being present is to be able to intuit the most appropriate answer for your dilemma or situation, thereby initiating a healthy response to the world. When you’re present you can make healthy, conscious choices. You help the world heal. When the world heals, beautiful opportunities increase and come your way. What goes around, comes around. You make wonderful choices; wonderful results come back to you.
One of the most direct and challenging ways to become present is to be still. Use your breath to become still and you’ll enter the present moment. When you become present, the answer appears.
Allow life to become your meditation. Integration of body, mind, and Spirit is the goal. When you are present you are IN THE MOMENT.
The only place we are in sync with our intuitive wisdom is when we’re present. In this moment of wisdom you heal anything that’s ready and willing to be healed. You’ll also become the catalyst for extraordinary manifestations.
BE STILL doesn’t mean that life around you has to be still in order for you to meditate. You can get quiet inside while walking down the street. It is easier, however, to get focused when you’re surrounded by quiet and sitting still. Teach yourself to quiet the mind and simply focus.
Here is a meditation you can do anywhere and it takes only 4 minutes, start to finish. Imagine…being able to center yourself, calm your mind, and de-stress your body in only 4 minutes!
Sit quietly with your palms in your lap, back straight, muscles relaxed. Close your eyes and inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth three times, nice and deep. Great.
Now breathe normally through your nose. Keep your focus on the rise and fall of your chest as you quietly inhale and exhale.
As your mind begins to wander bring your attention back to the rise and fall of your chest as you inhale and exhale normally.
Inhale. Exhale. Inhale, exhale, and inhale into each moment as you exhale into the next moment.
Keep doing this and visualize your breath creating a bridge from one moment to the next.
Create one moment.
One moment.
Inhale and exhale into each moment and create a quiet space in your body and mind. Do nothing with this space.
This space is reserved for healing, and healing only. In this space the answer will appear at the moment you need it to appear.
Hey, that’s a clever way of thinking about it.
